On May 31, 2013, a 2.6-mile wide EF-5 tornado impacted parts of Canadian County, Oklahoma, south of the town of . Mobile revealed that during maximum intensity reached nearly 300 MPH, making this tornado the largest (in terms of ) and second-strongest (in terms of wind speed) ever recorded.
