Video of EF4 tornado near Woonsocket, South Dakota from extreme storm chasers Dick McGowan @stormpics and Shay Phillips @shayjo13 on June 18, 2014, the last day of an infamous tornado outbreak that struck parts of the central Plains June 16-18… including the devastating Pilger, NE EF4 twin tornadoes just two days before. The bright white suction vortices shown in this video are the culprit for tornado damage with homes completely destroyed and adjacent ones seemingly untouched. Suction vortices remain a mystery to tornado scientists trying to learn just how strong the wind speeds can reach at ground-level.
