Video from storm chase yesterday supercells in central Appalachian Mountain region from Cumberland, KY through Big Stone Gap, VA

We could have dropped due south on 13 and punched over mountains early to northeast TN and would have been able to keep up with the storm beyond the gap, and intercept the tornadoes tho. Amazing storms and BEAUTIFUL terrain out here.

I'm becoming obsessed with storm chasing the eastern U.S. This is going to be a big part of the future. Anyone can find tornadoes in the Plains with a smart phone (although not always safely), but the challenge of the terrain further east is addicting… and the people need eyes under the storms out here.
